# Templates
Plate layouts can be saved as templates for re-use. Templates can be viewed in the **Templates** page.  Plate layout templates can be created by clicking **Save as Tempalte** from the  **Save Dropdown** while editing the layout, or by clicking **New** in the **Templates** page.

| 2      | **Template Dropdown Menu** | **Edit** - edit the template. **Copy** - create a copy of the plate template. **Delete** - delete the template. Deleting the template will not delete any plate layouts in experiments that made use of the template. **New Experiment** - start a new experiment using this plate template. |
